diabetes management cat food

Felihe diabetes – in search of other pet owners with experience?
Hello, my cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes. He is the oral intake glibenclamide meds 2x a day and eat a high protein, low carb canned food called Purina DM (Diabetes Management). He also has neuropathy in the hind legs and we give vitamin B12 to help repair nerve damage. In two weeks, when oral medication is not working properly to get his blood sugar, we will start him on insullin. The doctor has PZI insulin recommended, although I do not think that in Canada longer available. She thinks Lantus insulin is not working on it at this point. If someone has been successful, had experience with diabetes in cats, and I would request to hear from you. Thank you, Nicki
I have an old dog with diabetes. We give her Vetsulin shots every morning, and she is really good. The vet told us that dogs are much more easily than cats with diabetes to control. You are not really sure the difference but better to treatment . Respond Although cats are more difficult to treat, there are different types of insulin, to try.
