No cure for liver cancer?
My father was just recently diagnosed with liver cancer. November 2009 he was diagnosed with diabetes. At the end of January 2010 we had to take him to the emergency room because he was vomiting blood. He was transferred to the ICU because his blood count was down to 6.3. After been in the hospital for a week they found out that he had 3 masses on his liver. After having a biopsy done we found it out it is liver cancer. The oncologist says there isn’t much we can do because one of his tumors is 10.8 cm and most of the liver is no good. This also rules out a liver transplant. He also said chemo and radiation aren’t very productive with liver cancer. My dad is only 56 and has never been a heavy drinker or has had any major medical problems. He has lost 50 lbs. in the past couple months. He skin is yellowish and he has constant fluid retaining in his stomach. He is also very weak, but luckily is still able to eat. Can anyone please suggest anything that might give us some hope?
The best advice is to encourage him to eat a cancer/macrobiotic type diet, and to take natural ( non-toxic ) supplements that strengthen the liver. These would be milk thistle, dandelion and artichoke supplements. See these links.
